Guild Wars, Programing, Power Outages, and Homework
That is pretty much this weekend so far, if you consider Friday the weekend.
Guild Wars
There is a free preview this weekend. This is the non pay to play MMORPG being developed by three ex-Blizzard designers you have all been hearing about. I played through the first three missions Thursday and Friday. It's pretty fun. I have never played an MMORPG so I didn't know what to expect. The controls feel clunky, combat is fast (much faster than other rpg's I'm told), but it is very easy to get into groups and run through missions. Play it this weekend while its free.
Programming
My group is writing up Black Box this weekend. We have to go from UML and stubs to a working version by Monday. This is my favorite class right now. It is the only class that is directly related to my major (math classes don't count). It's a lot of work but I am working with two great guys and we stumble through Java together.
Power Outages
This morning the power went out. It was the stone age. The campus network was out so no one could access the internet. We had no lights which meant if I wanted to take a shower I had to do it in pitch black or leave the door open, and even then not much light. I woke up around 12:00, went to "breakfast" where the power was preventing us from eating waffles and omeletes. Stone Age. Apparently the milk dispensing machine that had chocolate milk was empty. Stone Age. The power came on shortly after I got back to my room and the first thing someone yelled was "Yay, we can go back to being tools!"
Homework
I have a test Monday and Tuesday. I have some homework to catch up on in one class, and the regular amount of homework for the other class. I just spent over an hour doing statics without getting a single problem right. I UNDERSTAND friction! I just can't manage to get it right now. I don't know what's wrong.
I'm going to take a nap right now so I'm not cranky from homework when my CS partners get here.
