The End of the Penguin?
As I read about Vista, there are all sorts of cool new features, alpha blending windows, file sorting and searching, virtual folders, as well as on the recent Mac OS. This is great, but where does linux fit? With the coming of better, more efficient file structures using the old way might become obsolete. Linux will of course still be used as a server, as the new changes look to be only useful for end users, but many people use Linux as their personal OS! I have not used Linux much, but I always assume I will eventually. Who is going to add radically new functionality to Linux? I hope someone does.

Lol! You really aren't paying any attention to the development scene, are you? There are tons of radically new ideas being developed there. Virtual folders have been around for years. OS X's beloved Spotlight was implemented first in Linux. And if you want to talk useless special effects, Linux is way beyond Windows' silly alpha-blended windows. If you want to talk solid filesystems, Linux has had excellent journalling support since Windows was still running some variation of FAT.
Relegating it to server use just because you don't see news items about it is kind of premature, don't you think? Innovation happens when there is an open exchange of ideas. Somehow I don't think Microsoft is going to lead the way.
